Breeder of German Shepherds

Meet the breeder

I'm Cherie S., the breeder behind Moon Dragon Kennels located in Gastonia, NC. Our dogs are bred to provide healthy, loving members to any family. We believe in breeding health tested, temperament tested and confirmation titled dogs. Our breeding dogs have been raised in home and are treated as beloved family members.

Q. & A. with Cherie

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got into breeding after acquiring my first West German Showline shepherd. I became interested in participating in conformation shows where I met other breeders and their amazing dogs. The decision was made to start a small breeding program to produce healthy puppies that carry on the breed standard set by the WUSV in Germany.
  • What makes your program special?

We truly care about our dogs. They are treated as family and not kept in outside kennels. We strive to match the best characteristics of the parents to produce amazing puppies
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have long coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
