Meet the breeder

I'm Clarissa M., the breeder behind Moonshot Finnish Lapphunds located in Urbana, OH. We breed for Lappies that excel not only in the show & performance rings but also as excellent companions. Temperament is incredibly important to us.

Q. & A. with Clarissa

  • Why did you start breeding?

I started showing in 2020 with my Australian Shepherd, Mako. My breeder introduced me to Lappies and my heart soared! I knew instantly that they were for me. I have spent a considerable amount of time absorbing as much information as possible from my breeder and mentor, Jacquelyn Barbour.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
