Meet the breeder

I'm Annamarie P., the breeder behind Morning Star Samoyeds located in Bearcreek, MT. Our Samoyeds are beautiful, intelligent, and highly social animals who thrive on companionship. While energetic, they are kind and gentle, making them wonderful with children of all ages. We stand by the puppies we produce with a 3 year genetic health guarantee and lifelong breeder support.

Q. & A. with Annamarie

  • Why did you start breeding?

My father raised Brittanys when I was growing up; I was immersed in the world of puppy-rearing from a young age. Thanks to a wonderful breeder and mentor, I was soon swept up in the world of conformation and field dog trials. We spent some years raising farm dogs before falling head over heels for a Samoyed and we’ve never looked back.
  • What makes your program special?

We have goals of raising puppies who are not only stunning to look at, but are also an improvement to their breed, intelligent and structurally sound, who love their families wholeheartedly. Our dogs are health-tested, beloved members of our family, who we are proud to share with you. Our puppies are raised in-home, receive Puppy Culture rearing methods, socialization, and early obedience.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include white and biscuit and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience! From start to finish, the whole process was an absolute joy and stress-free. Annamarie is incredibly passionate and totally on top of it. Bringing a new puppy home can be overwhelming, but she is such an expert resource and truly makes you feel calm and completely taken care of every step of the way. We are so incredibly grateful to Annamarie for the amazing care and love she puts into her pups. Also a huge thank you to Caycee as well for bringing our sweet boy, Monty, safely home to us. As someone who does a lot of research I promise you, you don’t have to look any further. I love the relationship we’ve made with Annamarie and love the community we’re now a part of.

My family and I are very impressed with Annamarie and her puppy’s. My family and I couldn’t have stumbled upon a better person to allow us to enjoy her puppy. The process was simple and every time I had a question for Annamarie she always respond within a very reasonable amount of time. Updates were often and detailed. Picking the dog up was very hassle free and on time. My family couldn’t be happier. OV is our family’s puppy now and at 8 weeks I am very impressed on the work Annamarie has put into OV. Walking on the leash for an 8week puppy has been so easy and amazing. OV came home to my family and right away expressed himself when he needs to go outside to go potty. Oh the puppy breath is amazing and so was Annamarie from start to even today asking me how the puppy is doing. Big thanks to Annamarie and here family for raise such beautiful sweet amazing loving puppies. Thanks the Schwartz family for giving us our forever Sammy

My family found the right breeder in Annamarie and Morning Star Samoyeds. From the beginning, she has been communicative and generous with both her time and expertise. I want to express my sincerest gratitude for the experience, and moreover, the remarkable little creature we've added to the family. Myrtle (Lime Green Girl) has been settling in remarkably quickly. There was some nervousness at our first meeting, but by the first night she was already sleeping belly-up and coming to our calls. The most incredible thing so far has been the nights. She settles down quickly and walks into her crate on her own if we don't push her -- she's strong-willed in the best way. She speaks her feelings and alerts me when she needs to go outside. The first 2 nights involved a potty break around 2:30am then right back to bed for both of us. She's also socializing incredibly well! She gets along with every person she's met (and 1 fully vaccinated dog friend). As I reflect on these first couple days, I'm reminded that none of this is by accident. Myrtle (and our family) have had the benefit of Annamarie's program. With her emphasis on healthy genetics and family-friendly temperament coupled with an early introduction to training, handling, and socialization, Annamarie gave us every advantage a breeder could provide. I highly recommend working with Morning Star Samoyeds. You won't regret it.

It’s been an amazing experience working with Annamarie and Morning Star Samoyeds. It was fun getting updates on the pups as they got ready to come home and getting Freja home with Wags n’ Wiggles was great too. Freyja has been an absolute doll, a doll who sometimes feels she needs to bite my ankles, but a doll nonetheless. Her temperament has been fantastic and she loves meeting new people and other dogs and even a couple cats. She has been very confident adjusting to her new life living downtown with the noise and traffic; we even watched some skateboarders the other day. She is very playful and loves chomping on some stuffed animal toys. This has been a great experience through and through, a big thank you to Annamarie and her Morning Star Samoyeds.

Morning Star Samoyeds was my first experience working with a breeder and I am so glad they were! Annamarie was a joy to work with and always kept me informed of how things were going. She was diligent in responding, making sure I felt comfortable with the process, and answered all my questions without delay or judgement. She asked all the right questions and I was truly impressed with her thoroughness in preventative care before my pup even came home. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a Samoyed with great temperament and beautiful coats!
