I'm Crystal M., the breeder behind Mud-E Acres Kennel located in Russellville, KY. Our Teddy Roosevelt Terriers live with us at our home. We often take them out in the woods to chase rabbits and squirrel hunt. My emphasis is producing healthy, happy, quality pups and placing them in homes where they will be well cared for!
Q. & A. with Crystal
Why did you start breeding?
When we purchased a new Teddy Roosevelt Terrier puppy I realized how few and far between they are. Having nearly gone extinct in about 2010, it took me months to find one and I had to travel a few states away to meet with the breeder. I decided these little dogs are too awesome to be so endangered and given my background raising goats and other animals, I decided to become a breeder.
What makes your program special?
Our focus is on quality over quantity. We are raising our dogs toward the breed standard and working with fellow breeders to improve the breed with each generation.

Crystal was such a pleasure to work with. I had initially contacted her about buying one of her boys. The next day I found another male Teddy that I also wanted from another breeder that was a couple hours away from her. Crystal went out of her way to collect that dog and bring both of them to the airport in Nashville. I had some trouble with my flight due to the global tech outage; but Crystal was very flexible and easy to work with to reschedule delivery. In spite of all the troubles with the airlines, my experience with Crystal was excellent and I am now the proud dog dad of two beautiful Teddies! I couldn't be happier.
