Meet the breeder

I'm Levi S., the breeder behind My Buddy Ol’ Paws located in Hillsdale, MI. I breed golden doodles and I focus on the quality of the temperament and health this breed deserves. Keeping them to the miniature size in a healthy quality way is a focus of mine.

Q. & A. with Levi

  • Why did you start breeding?

My cousin is the one that convinced me to share the love of golden doodles with others.
  • What makes your program special?

My breeding program is special because I share it with my co-owner and his kids, my nieces and nephews and the rest of my family to keep them very well socialized and loved before they would ever go to their forever home. We love our dogs and take their health and environment very seriously.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

  • Hip Dysplasia

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Full Embark Panel

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
