I'm Leila R., the breeder behind My Favorite Doodle located in Largo, FL. Having a dog in our lives is such a blessing. We find so much fulfillment in providing that same companionship to other homes! The loyalty and loving disposition of this breed are simply the best! We put a great deal of effort into raising our litters to ensure our puppy families will have the best experience raising their new family members.
Q. & A. with Leila
Why did you start breeding?
My husband and I grew up with dogs and found that life is immensely more enjoyable with a dog as your companion. Years ago, we decided to start a boarding/daycare business for dogs in our home and eventually incorporated a breeding program as well. Dog care comes naturally to us and we provide the perfect environment for happy, healthy fur babies.
What makes your program special?
We have had our breeding dogs since 8 weeks old. The breeding process is carefully done based on age, genetics, size and temperament of each dog. Once fixed, our breeding dogs remain our companions. We do not rehome them. We even have our 15 yr old beagle long retired from breeding. Since we also provide boarding/daycare for dogs, locals who buy will always have a trusted sitter as well.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our Double Doodle puppies are miniature size. Goldendoodle puppies include petite, miniature, and medium sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Double Doodle puppies include light golden, golden, dark golden, cream, chocolate, apricot, cafe au lait, brown, and black. Goldendoodle puppies include cream, apricot, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing

My Favorite Doodle reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Double Doodles.
Hip Dysplasia , Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
