I'm Jennifer E., the breeder behind Nach dem Sturm Kennels located in West Columbia, TX. Our breeding program emphasizes health testing and quality genetics, with a focus on temperament, working skills, and training. Our dogs are excellent working dogs, and we are proud to continue their line. We breed both to provide families with loving and capable companions and to improve upon our dogs' fantastic traits with each generation.

Ozzi, dad
German Shepherd
About Ozzi
Oz is a stunning, large sable male with strong lines and a masculine presentation. He has very good conformation with a strong head and good expression. He is a confident, attentive dog with a balanced nature and strong nerves, and works eagerly for either the ball or food. He also enjoys spending time with his people as he has a nice "off switch". As part of our training program Oz has been started in Search and Rescue - Area Search. Ozias's sire, Pepper von Kap Karthago, is an IGP Grand Champion. We believe his pedigree has a lot to offer in our breeding program.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Excellent level
Nach dem Sturm Kennels reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for German Shepherds.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Temperament Test
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
