Meet the breeder

I'm Brittany M., the breeder behind Nordstern Tervuren located in Buffalo, NY. Nordstern is a small program dedicated to breeding sound working line Belgian Tervuren. I am a trainer and very involved in dog sport. Puppies are raised at home, set up to receive the best foundation to live a healthy & purposeful life when leaving our home.

Q. & A. with Brittany

  • Why did you start breeding?

I picked up Korra as a puppy in 2021, and started training in IGP straight away. I fell in love with the breed, and have spent the past few years researching all I can find about Belgians. I didn't bring Korra home with the intention of starting a breeding program with her, but she has shown me with maturity how she's a great representation of the breed.
  • What makes your program special?

Korra is health tested beyond what is required for Belgians. She is also titled to a very high standard. Because I'm also a dog trainer, I can separate what about her is from training, and what is her genetics. It's important to me that any puppy who leaves my care is in the right home.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include mahogany and black and fawn and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Brittany

“Puppies are matched based on our daily observations and temperament testing done at 7 weeks (at a new location, by a person new to the puppies). Puppies are not on a 'first come, first placed' basis.”

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,000 - $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.
