I'm Megan P., the breeder behind North Star Dog Training located in Lancaster, MN. We specialize in obedience trained F1 Goldendoodles, where all of our puppies are temperament tested for therapy & service dog work. We regularly offer FREE delivery to Rogers, MN and Fargo, ND! We are passionate about our work and would love to help pair you with the perfect new family member!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    We believe that dogs should be bred to better the breed with integrity and strive to do just that. Full health testing, temperament and structure are just a few of the details that are critical in breeding our wonderful therapy, service & family dogs!

  • What makes your program special?

    We do everything from the comfort of our home and offer additional obedience training programs for our puppies, should your family decide, prior to going home. I was a dog trainer prior to breeding our own puppies, and have extensive knowledge and experience when it comes to potty training, crate training, and basic obedience.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies include medium and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include cream, apricot, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Megan

Megan has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Megan partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and $2,300 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Our puppies are all priced at $2800. We, also, offer three add-on training options at an additional cost, if you would like your puppy to have a started obedience foundation before coming home! Our deposits are NON-refundable, but can always be transferred to another litter.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • von Willebrand Disease I (vWD I), Neonatal Encephalopathy with Seizures (NEwS), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), PRA, Golden Retriever 2, PRA, Golden Retriever 1, Ichthyosis, Golden Retriever Type 1, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis 5 (NCL5), Golden Retriever Type

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    My children wanted a goldendoodle. I was a bit hesitant as I haven't had a dog that large before. I did some research and saw that all Good Dog breeders are vetted. I was also extremely happy to see that she is also a dog trainer and that the puppies would be brought up exposed to family life as we have a busy life with three children. She was very responsive and I could tell she cares a great deal about her puppies from being thoughtful about their food, microchipping, and vaccine schedules to keeping families updated on their progress along the way. She helped us pick out Maverick based on his temperament which was wonderful. Now that he's here he has been such a joyful addition. He is very respectful of our 8 year old cavapoo and crate training and potty training are going excellent. I've had several puppies and can't believe how little he jumps up on people or nips.     Megan was great to work with and was always quick to respond to any questions throughout the process. They brought “Frankie” to Fargo to meet us halfway and the whole day went off without a hitch. They provided a packet with health information and a swag bag with toys and treats.
