I'm Leah P., the breeder behind Northern Lights Arctic Spitz Pomskies located in Niles, OH. We are a small breeder located in North Eastern Ohio. Our dogs are family and they are spoiled with lots of love and affection. Our pups are raised in our home and every effort is made to ensure you receive a healthy and well-adjusted pup. We start teaching potty training concepts at 3 weeks and crate training at 6 weeks. We expose the pups to lots of situations and people to get them ready to go to their new homes.
Q. & A. with Leah
Why did you start breeding?
I have owned dogs all my life and always dreamed of someday breeding dogs and being surrounded by puppies and dogs. After my cancer diagnosis and my children moved out I decided that now was the time that I could really dedicate my time to doing this. It is the hardest and most rewarding job I have ever had. I work in IT and have a remote job thankfully so I am always here for the dogs.
What makes your program special?
I health test my breeding dogs, litter train them and crate train them prior to going home. I spend a lot of time handling them and exposing them to different situations. I provide safety equipment to get them home safely (Car seat, leash, harness) and Trupanion. I have extensive buyer education and support and I love each and every one of them immensely.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies include toy and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include white, black and white, and merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.

My experience with Leah from Northern Lights Arctic Spitz Pomskies was nothing short of extraordinary! Leah and I started talking and within two weeks we had Rayna across into Canada and off to her new home here in Northern Ontario! Leah went above and beyond to make sure Rayna had the proper documentation to do an international pet purchase. Thank you, Leah. I am forever grateful. The kids and I will love and spoil our little bumsky.
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
