I'm Hollie E., the breeder behind Northfork Kennels located in Orofino, ID. I have been breeding Samoyeds since 1986. My goal is to breed a Samoyed that fits the AKC standard, with much emphasis on temperament. The beauty, grace, structure, movement of a dog would be an empty shell without the true Samoyed temperament.
Q. & A. with Hollie
Why did you start breeding?
An obedience instructor talked me into showing in obedience and from there I bought a Samoyed and started conformation. It has been an absolute joy of a journey, and I am so happy to be able to share these wonderful dogs with other loving families and individuals.
What makes your program special?
I don't breed to the top winning dog; I find a male that will compliment my female and improve her line with each generation. He must have all of her good qualities including an excellent temperament. All of my dogs must clear O.F.A. hips, elbows, eyes, and a cardiac echo by a certified cardiologist; auscultation is not enough. I strive to breed healthy, quality pups that can fit any lifestyle. I love what I do and truly want the very best for my puppies and their forever families.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include white and biscuit and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

These dogs are already reserved or have gone home.

“Your puppy comes with almost daily interaction with grandkids ages 3 years to 9 years, 2 cats, and other dogs of various ages. I send you home with a big binder full of information and pictures of your puppy as well as it's sire and dam. This book is much like a baby book with pages for you to fill out as your puppy grows into adulthood and beyond. There are pages with vaccination records and even a spot to stick the label from the vaccine vial so you will have the lot # etc. if there is ever a issue with a vaccine you can double check to make sure it isn't that lot. Take your binder with you to your vet visit and have the vet stick the label from the vaccine he injects into your puppy and record wormings or any surgery etc. Your Veterinarian will be impressed with how organized you are in your record keeping on your pet. CD full of pictures of your pup from birth until he/she leaves our home to go to yours, with printed pictures inside as well as the front cover of your binder. You will also get a toy to take home that has the smell of your pups littermates and mom, a stuffed animal toy that coordinates with the color of his/her collar designated at birth. Also a chew toy that is safe for your puppy. A small bag of food that your pup has been eating, a White Pine collar that does not damage the coat and other gifts. In short, you become a member of our extended family with 24/7 support. Remember that there is no such thing as a silly question. We love correspondence from you with pictures of the puppy as it grows. Your Reservation fee of $2000.00 holds a puppy in your name here at our Kennels. If for some reason we do not have a puppy for you, say we only have females and you wanted a male then your fee will be returned unless you decide you would take one of the pups available, or you want on the list for the next litter. The Reservation fee is totally refundable until the pups are 2 weeks of age and there is a puppy that fits your wants, after that time period it is not, unless Northfork recognizes an unprecedented situation for an individual.”
