I'm Rebecca A., the breeder behind Northwinds and Kashmir located in Fredonia, NY. I have made a career out of showing dogs where I met my husband we have been breeding and showing for the last 30 years. Winning national specialties in multile countries. Best of Breed at Westminster kennel club multiple times and numerous Best in shows and specialties wins I also for well over 20years have been co breeding Italian Greyhounds with our Client Celia Weatherhead of Kashmir Italian Greyhounds.

Why did you start breeding?
My grandmother was an obdience instructor, a 4h leader , bred and shown her own Irish setter. I was 9 and started in 4h then at 12 I showed in akc Jr. Handling and since made my career out of showing.What makes your program special?
We strive for temperament since we are a dogshow family . We have always wanted to have a well bred tempered dog. Irish setters get a bad rap being crazy and not so smart. Our dogs have always been a family adventure . Our son and daughter have shown their own dogs and our daughter co bred a few litters and work as an assistant handler for us .What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are mahogany. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

“The price includes..akc registration, Least 2 vaccines, de Worming, dewclaws removed, vet checks and microchipped. A 500.00 deposit is required. If you have a change of heart or life situation your deposit will be refunded.”

He also won the Irish setter club of American national 2 weeks before his 10th birthday. He was number 1 all breeds in Canada in 1993 He won numerous Best in shows in Canada and United States. He has over 160 champions to date with numerous Best in show children

Rebecca has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.
Parent health testing

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel, PRA, Irish Setter Type
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
