I'm Adrianne C., the breeder behind Nova Noir located in Colorado Springs, CO. We believe health and temperament should be the foundation to every good program; in ours, it’s a given. Through careful consideration and mindful choices, we also breed for type, versatility, workability, and movement.
Q. & A. with Adrianne
Why did you start breeding?
I got into breeding with my first ever Black Russian Terrier, Amity, who is such a special girl. She helped me fall in love with the breed and inspired me to dedicate my life to the preservation of the breed by standard, through my dogs.
What makes your program special?
My breeding program focuses type, movement, workability, and versatility of my breed. I have found many American-bred Black Russian Terriers lack bone and substance. I am interested in preserving the true form and function of the breed while maintaining beautiful movement and well balanced dogs
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Lilith, mom
Black Russian Terrier
About Lilith
Lilith is a gem. She is hilarious, and a touch ditzy but serious and “with it” when it is called for. She is from my first litter and we have done so much together. She is my first bred by, my first completely owner handled dog, and my first owner handled group placing dog (x2 so far)! She finished her AKC Championship in 2 weekends and is titled toward her Grand Championship. She has been my demo dog for learning the Black Russian Terrier groom and stands perfectly on the table for as long as I need her to. She can be taught anything and gets it super fast. Like her mom, she does some nose work though not as frequently as Amity and I. She and I love to show together. She lights up when she hits the ring, and performs her heart out. She’s a big girl at approximately 28” tall and 110-115 lbs. She has good bone, good substance, and a phenomenal temperament to boot. I am very proud of her and can’t wait to see what the future holds for her!
Amity, mom
Black Russian Terrier
About Amity
Amity is as intelligent as she is beautiful. Her soulful eyes seem to speak to whoever she gazes upon-and she has a lot to say! True to the breed, she is stoic and reserved with strangers. At home, she is our warm, beloved girl. She has high drive and she does anything we ask of her. Her favorite sport is scentwork and she also enjoys weight pull (and is quite good at it)! She is not yet titled in either but we are actively working toward her titling in both sports.
