Meet the breeder

I'm Sherryl M., the breeder behind OakSong German Shepherd Dogs located in Aledo, TX. All of our dogs are loved as family members. We cherish our puppies from birth up until they leave our arms to snuggle into yours! We raise our dogs in our home right alongside our family. We love being able to match our puppies with families that are the perfect fit for their personalities.

Q. & A. with Sherryl

  • Why did you start breeding?

I spent five years learning the about the breed and acquiring the three Shepherds I now have. I purchased and chose to breed these three because of the temperament, beauty and social nature. Macho is not only beautiful but an ambassador for the breed, although he has a tough appearance, he is quite the lapdog! Sweet and gentle with babies, children, elderly and he love playing with the puppies, though he prefers one at a time. LOL
  • What makes your program special?

Selection of parent dogs that possess friendly temperaments, sound, capable body structure, Health Testing, and excellent food and Veterinarian care. We don’t skimp on our choices, but work to make reasonable decisions just like they were my children.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have long coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black and black and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Sherryl

Sherryl has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Sherryl partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.

“I want you and your OakSong puppy to be a perfect match to last their lifetime. We will discuss what you want to do with your puppy, some aspects of your lifestyle, and things you don’t want in a dog. Example: you like to run or go hiking, you like a social night life that doesn’t involve your dog, or you are a home body that likes to watch movies or sports. Puppies exhibit personality traits as early as 5 weeks old that can greatly affect your lifestyle. We don’t want your dream of an ideal puppy to clash with your puppy’s personality, while you might like the look if one puppy on the profile, their little personality may not fit your ideal lifestyle. So, let me help guide you. The decision is ultimately yours, but I want my puppies to go to forever homes, not RE-homes!”

We chose OakSong “Sherryl” for her knowledge and experience with breeding certain dogs. The selection of our pup went seamlessly. Sherryl was excellent at keeping us updated on the status of the puppies born to Lily and Optimus. She communicated weekly. The choosing of our pup, light blue, who is now named Odin, is all black. He is very active and fiesty. Learning quickly.

I spent months pouring over photos and speaking to differ German shepherd breeders. I landed at OakSong d/t the total package her breeding program had. The Parents had strong bone structure, beautiful long coats with rich colors. The dogs had sound minds and even temperaments. The puppies are reared in home with a great deal of one on one time with Charyl. Charyl assisted me to choose the correct puppy that had the right personality and temperament to match my own personality and lifestyle. I highly recommend her breeding program and feel that she is professional and ethical. She is honest with the business contract. Finally she assisted me in finding a ethical transport service My Tango is everything I had been hoping and dreaming of.

We got our beautiful puppy from OakSong German Shepherd Dogs, and we couldn’t be happier with her. She is an absolutely beautiful baby with an incredible personality and a perfect temperament—exactly what we were looking for and everything our hearts desired. She is easy to train and truly an absolute blessing. From the very beginning Sherryl knew how much we hoped for this particular puppy and, with care and honesty, made a decision that allowed our baby to come home with us, which meant so much to our family. It was such a wonderful experience waiting for her and receiving the beautiful updates Sherryl shared from the start—beginning with Lily’s pregnancy and then the arrival of those precious babies. We truly appreciated Sherryl sharing her knowledge and experience throughout the entire process. Meeting Lily in person and finally bringing our beloved baby home was incredibly special. Thank you so much, Sherryl, for everything. God bless you.

Working with Sherryl was incredibly easy. She was very clear and upfront in her communication. I had a previous bad experience with a puppy scam and was very grateful that Sherryl was willing to meet with me and offer reassurance. Our puppy, Doc, is adorable and learning quickly. He took quickly to crate sleeping and has been very friendly with guests. AND our cat. This entire process has been easy for me and we are grateful for our new addition. Thank you, Sherryl.

About Good Dog App I wasn’t aware of the Good Dog app until I started browsing for dog breeders near me — and I’m so glad I found it. Good Dog is not just a great platform to browse available puppies and dogs, but a truly genuine tool that connects you with verified, responsible breeders. You can talk to them directly, receive regular updates, and even complete all your payments securely online. It made the whole process smooth and reassuring. About Sherryl I feel incredibly lucky to have connected with Sherryl through Good Dog. She is a wonderful person and a passionate breeder of beautiful Long Coat German Shepherds (show lines). From our first conversation, she was warm, transparent, and attentive to what I was looking for in a puppy. It was clear how deeply she cares about placing her pups in loving homes. She kept me updated consistently, and since I’m out of state, she even scheduled FaceTime calls so I could see the puppy and his dad/mom. Sherryl went above and beyond — giving thoughtful advice about flying with a puppy, arranging a vet-issued health certificate for travel, and sending him with a cabin carrier, food, toys, and blankets. Her love for her dogs is undeniable, and I’m truly grateful for her support throughout the process. About Our Puppy – Maverick 1. We named him Maverick. 2. He’s a calm and confident little guy. 3. He enjoys meeting new people and other dogs. 4. Loves car rides! 5. Doing great in his crate. 6. Potty training is going well — only a few minor accidents. 7. His wellness check went perfectly and he’s healthy across the board. 8. He’s a happy, healthy pup. 9. We feel so blessed to have him in our family.
