We are dedicated to placing the perfect pups into hunting homes. We are breeders of classic foot hunting English Setters. At October Setters, beauty is a given, but producing healthy, loving, and versatile hunting dogs is our true goal.

Why did you start breeding?
We were interested in breeding dogs that are great companions that are primarily excellent hunters. It is because of this we reserve the right to choose which families are best suited for each puppy. At October Setters, we are committed to always having responsible breeding practices.What makes your program special?
Our dogs are calm, affectionate companions that hunt hard with enthusiasm and flair. We are very dedicated to what we do and what we are trying to achieve as breeders. We work with passion, heart, and integrity, and we truly want what's best for all of our puppies.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
