I'm Sylvia Y., the breeder behind Odyssey Pups located in Somerset, OH. Our puppies are hand whelped and family raised from day one. Each puppy is vet checked, vaccinated and dewormed prior to leaving for new homes. Focusing on socialization, with a variety of different surfaces and experiences to assure easy transition from our home to yours.

Why did you start breeding?
For almost 3 decades I was a caregiver to my mother who suffered from MS. After she passed away and my children were half grown, I found I had time to pursue my dream of raising puppies. I soon realized this was an ideal project for myself and my children. What better to do with my spare time than sharing the love of our four legged companions with other families?What makes your program special?
With owning only a few adult dogs, I am able to devote attention to each dog individually. Our puppies receive hands on care from birth to the time they leave at 8 wks old. We also litter box train to make house training easier for you. I believe healthy, happy mamas produce healthy, happy babies. I do my own grooming and enjoy potty training puppies. Sylvia has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Puppy prices include a $200 non-refundable deposit and between $550 - $1,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Puppies are sold and covered under a 2yr health guarantee. Each puppy is vet checked, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped prior to leaving our home. We do send home a starter kit with each puppy. Deposits are non refundable but always transferable. The deposit will be deducted from the total price of your puppy.”

Litter update on 07 Nov. •…Hello everyone, I was looking at pics in my gallery, and look at these tiny little things! I hope this finds all my babies adjusting and doing well for you. If anyone has a minute to jump over to the “new owners stories” and let me a review I’d be grateful. You folks are my best form of advertising. 😁 We are all well at Odyssey. I retired Jules and she’s doing well with a wonderful older couple. And!! I have someone new to introduce in the near future. I lost my head and bought a gorgeous little female poodle. I’m pretty excited about her. 😁

Litter update on 14 Oct. •…These little white girls have been inseparable since birth. Even before they could see or hear they could find each other and snuggle. It has blessed my heart. I wish I could have saw inside their mama before they were born. They were likely near each other in utero.

Litter update on 14 Oct. •…Good morning folks. Tomorrow is the big day! The first puppies will be going home. I wanted to hop on here and say a few things that might help with transitioning from me to you. The babies know how to use their doggie door and potty outside in the litter pan. If you show them what door you want them to go to & always take them out that door they will learn faster which door to go to when they need out. Watch for sniffing along on the floor and squatting. Those are your potty signs. 😁 If they don’t want to eat very well the first few days you can let them have free choice feeding and also offer canned puppy food. A new environment can easily throw a puppy’s stomach off. Feeding a cup a day to start with. Once they eat the whole cup & look for more you can up the amount. My adult dogs get about 2 cups a day. Feel free to contact me with any worries. This is the first the babies will be alone without their siblings so expect some crying at night. I recommend crating at night. You can keep them near you while they adjust but try not to take them out of the crate at every whimper. They’re smart little boogers. They’ll learn to fuss for what they want. 😅 They’re used to a night light and the noise of a fan. That might be comforting and helpful to start with. If you have any other questions don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m here for you while you get to know each other. It takes a few weeks to get a routine established etc. Feeling overwhelmed is also normal. It’s a lot like bringing a new baby home from the hospital.

Ava is a sweet, well mannered girl. Her coat is a unique bleed of red and brown with light colored highlights. She is around 21 lbs and has a good built with long legs and a solid chest. She is very social and affectionate.

I don’t even have words good enough to tell you how fantastic Sylvia made this entire experience. After long and disappointing research for a reputable breeder I was blessed to find Sylvia and I will admit I thought she was too good to be true! She answered every one of my 13,447 questions and continues to reach out. Atticus and his siblings were raised like Sylvia’s own babies and it is obvious bc that love shines through in Atticus. He’s well socialized and wants to greet anyone within a 20’ radius. Sylvia posted updates on a regular basis and responded to me usually within 15 minutes. She even sent Atticus home w a cute little basket of goodies of which he likes the basket itself most! Potty training is fairly easy bc he was already litter box trained so the move outside wasn’t difficult. Of course as the pic shows sometimes we don’t agree on where things should go! We are already talking about Sylvia’s future litters for Atticus’ buddy. We’ve tried to take a good family pic but we can never seem to get him to stay still for more than 5 seconds. However, I will say that it takes a lot for him to get all that energy out so the naps are wonderful- for both of us! Sylvia and the Good Dog platform are both transparent and helpful and we will definitely do it all over again in the future. Thank you Sylvia 🥰

+8Sylvia was great! She was very responsive to messages and open to all questions and inquiries making an easy transition for myself and the new pup. Between the initial message and pick up, she shared growth photos, important updates like his height, weight, vet visits and even shared updates on weaning him off his Mom’s milk to a healthy formula. She also was very accommodating with the travel to pick up and sent him with starter food, treats, a beautiful blanket and bear. He absolutely loves it and I absolutely love him!
