Meet the breeder

I'm Heidi K., the breeder behind Ole Poor Farm located in Sheldon, VT. Nestled in the hills of Sheldon VT, at the end of a dead-end dirt road, Poor Farm Road...we enjoy raising our Dogs, Llamas, Yaks, Donkeys, Goats and chickens.

Q. & A. with Heidi

  • Why did you start breeding?

Breeding grew naturally from my lifelong love of animals and my appreciation for specific breeds. It started with working dogs on our farm and evolved as I discovered the joy of raising puppies with great temperaments, solid health, and confident personalities. I truly enjoy being part of each puppy’s early development—watching them grow, learn, and become well‑rounded companions.
  • What makes your program special?

Our puppies are raised underfoot in our home, where they experience everyday life from the very beginning. They are exposed to many different interactions, environments, and gentle handling early on, which helps build confident, social, and well‑adjusted dogs. We believe early experiences shape a puppy for life, and we take great care in giving them the best possible start.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Wirehaired Pointing Griffon puppies are chestnut and gray. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

I highly recommend Heidi at Ole Poor Farm! We had such a wonderful experience getting our puppy, Wesley, from her. Heidi was incredibly knowledgeable and provided us with all of the up-to-date information we needed. She took the time to answer our questions and made sure we felt completely comfortable and prepared before bringing Wesley home. It’s also very obvious how much Heidi genuinely loves and cares for her dogs. They are extremely well cared for, and she truly wants the best for every puppy she raises. We couldn’t be happier with Wesley or with our experience with Heidi. I would absolutely recommend Ole Poor Farm to anyone looking for a well-loved, well-cared-for puppy!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Ole Poor Farm and Heidi Kindt while getting our Wirehaired Pointing Griffon puppy, Maggie! From start to finish, the entire experience was seamless and exceeded our expectations. Heidi was amazing with communication and kept us updated throughout the process with photos and videos of the puppies as they grew. It was so special to be able to watch Maggie’s personality develop and see her progress before we even brought her home. You could truly tell how much Heidi loved and cared for the puppies, and that made us feel so confident that Maggie was getting the best possible start. Heidi even met us halfway for pickup, which made everything so easy. When we finally met her in person, she was just as kind, warm, and sweet as we had hoped. It was obvious that raising these puppies is something she genuinely loves. Maggie has been such a wonderful addition to our family, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience. We would highly recommend Heidi and Ole Poor Farm to anyone considering a Wirehaired Pointing Griffon puppy. You can feel confident that you’re working with someone who truly cares about her dogs and the families they go home to. Thank you, Heidi, for helping bring our sweet Maggie into our lives! ❤️🐾

Heidi was so incredibly helpful, going above and beyond, to help get our girl home to CA! Throughout the process she sent many pictures and videos for updates. Our new little girl is so smart and well adjusted after just one week and it all has to do with the love and care she received from Heidi. Forever grateful ❤️
