Oliver has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Oliver partners with them to find the best puppy match.
“We take great care to vet our prospective buyers. Catahoula's are extremely high energy and can be stubborn. We want to make sure that the potential buyer realizes all these factors before they bring home and then realizing the puppy/dog is too much for them.”

“The price includes NALC registration, vet check, deworming, first vaccination, socialization, preliminary potty training, 3 pounds of current food, a gallon of our well water to ease the transition, a Mommy scented blanket and a homemade rope toy that has their brothers and sisters scent as well. We believe sending them with some comforts and smells from their fur family are important. The blanket especially helps when crate training!”
Oliver may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. ✈️ Catahoula Puppy Flight Preparation Checklist A Step-by-Step Guide for Flying Your Puppy Home Safely in the Cabin Because Catahoula Leopard Dog puppies grow quickly and are a high-drive breed, flying with them requires careful planning. Follow this checklist to ensure a stress-free journey. 📅 1. Two Weeks Before the Flight Book the Pet Reservation Immediately: Airlines limit the total number of pets allowed in the cabin per flight (usually only 2 to 5). Call the airline directly right after booking your own seat to reserve your puppy’s spot. Expect a one-way pet fee of roughly $100 to $125. Request an Aisle or Window Seat: Avoid middle seats. Under-seat dimensions are frequently smaller or blocked by entertainment equipment boxes under middle seats Yogasleep Pawzz White Noise Machine for Dogs, Home & All Pets. with .... Purchase an Approved Compressible Carrier: Buy a soft-sided, airline-approved carrier (such as the Sherpa Original Deluxe or SturdiBag Pro in Size Large) Sherpa® Original DeluxeTM Airline Approved Pet Carrier, Black, Small. It must have a flexible frame that can squash down to fit under low airline seats. Schedule the Vet Health Certificate: Check your airline's specific policy. Most airlines require a signed Interstate Health Certificate (CVI) from the breeder's vet issued within 10 days of travel. 🎒 2. Packing List for the Cabin Pack these items in your carry-on bag or the carrier's side pockets: The signed Vet Health Certificate and vaccination records. 3–4 disposable puppy pee pads (to line the carrier). A small pack of baby wipes and 5–6 poop bags (for accidental messes). A small, empty collapsible silicone water bowl. A tiny bag of puppy kibble or high-value treats. A small, light collar or harness and a leash. The Breeder’s Scent Blanket (provided at pickup to keep the pup calm) Puppy Send-Home Packs (8 Weeks) | Dog Handling & Grooming Equipment Series. 🏡 3. At Pickup (With the Breeder) Limit Food and Water: Feed the puppy a very small meal 3 to 4 hours before the flight. Do not give them a large amount of water right before entering the airport to prevent motion sickness and crate accidents. The Scent Trick: Place the scent blanket inside the carrier. The smell of the mother and littermates will instantly soothe the puppy's nervous system Pack a Puppy Kit for New Puppy Buyers - American Kennel Club. Final Potty Break: Give the puppy a thorough opportunity to relieve themselves on the grass right before entering the airport terminal. 🛫 4. Navigating the Airport & TSA Checkpoint Check In at the Front Desk: You cannot use curbside check-in or a digital boarding pass when flying with a pet. You must go to the main ticket counter so the agent can verify your paperwork, weigh the carrier, and collect the pet fee. TSA Security Screening: You will be asked to take the puppy out of the carrier at the security line. You must carry the puppy in your arms through the metal detector while the empty carrier goes through the X-ray machine. Keep Leashed: Ensure the puppy has a secure collar/harness and leash on before taking them out of the bag so they cannot bolt if startled by airport noise. Locate the Pet Relief Area: Once past security, locate the airport's indoor pet relief station for one final potty attempt before boarding. 💺 5. During the Flight Keep the Carrier Zipped: Airline regulations strictly dictate that the puppy must remain fully zipped inside the carrier under the seat for the entire duration of the flight. The "No-Inside-Chewing" Rule: Because Catahoulas are powerful chewers, never put cell phones, speakers, or loose plastic toys inside the carrier with them. If playing a soothing heartbeat track from your phone, place the speaker on your lap or directly outside the mesh panel where they can hear it but cannot reach the cord or device. Comforting the Pup: If the puppy whines, unzip the top mesh just enough to slide your hand inside to soothe them. Do not let their head pop out. 🧠 Managing Puppy Travel Anxiety Understanding Your Catahoula’s Stress Signs and How to Calmingly React A 9-to-10-week-old puppy is in a critical behavioral fear period. Traveling can cause acute sensory overload. Use this guide to manage their stress. 🔍 Signs of Puppy Travel Stress Hyper-Salivation: Heavy, thick drooling or frequent lip-licking without food present. Whining or High-Pitched Yelping: A vocal demand for physical contact and reassurance. Yawning or Shaking: Panting or yawning when not tired, or trembling like they are cold. Stiff Posture: Freezing, pressing tightly into the back of the carrier, or refusing treats. 🛠️ De-Escalation Techniques Natural Calming Tricks Maternal Heartbeat Simulation: Pop open YouTube or Spotify on your phone. Search for 12 hour puppy heartbeat or womb sounds for puppies. Rest the phone next to the mesh window of the carrier so the low thumping rhythm grounds them. The "Scent Lock": Keep the breeder's scent blanket wrapped securely around the puppy. The lingering pheromones from their mother and 14 littermates directly suppress the brain's panic response Snuggle Puppy® Heartbeat Stuffed Toy for Pet Anxiety Relief. Passive Touch: Slide your hand slightly into the zipped opening. Rest your palm firmly on their chest without moving it. Do not pet them rapidly; a still, firm, warm hand acts like a littermate leaning against them. What NOT to Do Do Not Scold: Never raise your voice or tap the carrier if they whine. This validates their fear that the environment is unsafe. Do Not Reward Frenzy: Wait for a brief 2-to-3-second pause in crying before sliding your hand in to comfort them. Squeezing your hand in right during a massive screaming fit accidentally trains them that screaming unlocks your attention. Avoid Chemical Sedatives: Never give over-the-counter human or pet sedatives to a young puppy unless explicitly prescribed by a veterinarian. Sedatives can dangerously depress a puppy’s breathing and temperature regulation at high flight altitudes. Do you want to add your contact information or a specific emergency veterinary clause to the bottom of these sheets before printing?

🐾 Puppy’s Night One Success Guide! 🐾 Hi! We are so excited for you and your new Catahoula puppy. To help them transition from a big pack of 15 siblings to their first night alone in their crate, here is a trick to prevent crying and help everyone sleep: The Scent Blanket: Place the blanket I gave you inside their crate. It smells like Mom and the litter, which tricks their brain into feeling safe. The Heartbeat Sound: Puppies miss the constant physical thumping of their siblings. Before bedtime, go to YouTube, Spotify, or Apple Music and search for:👉 12 hour puppy heartbeat crate training or womb sounds for puppies. Pick a track that is 8 to 12 hours long so it plays through the entire night without stopping. Loop it on an old phone or tablet next to the crate. ⚠️ CRITICAL SAFETY: Catahoulas love to chew when stressed! Keep the phone, speaker, and all power cords safely on a table outside and away from the crate so they cannot reach it. Keep the volume on a gentle, low setting.Good luck tonight, and please send updates! 🐶❤️

Some of the pups taking advantage of the ac on this warm Delaware day. They are mostly using the outdoor run for the bathroom so potty training should be pretty easy.

It was a pleasure to work with Oliver and OpenGate Catahoulas. Oliver is clearly knowledgeable about, and dedicated to, the breed. I bought my female puppy, Willow, at 12-13 weeks. Oliver made the transport to UT incredibly easy, even when I had to reschedule the original delivery at the last minute. Willow was crate trained and well socialized prior to leaving OpenGate. She is a beautiful and intelligent dog. I couldn’t be happier with my dog or my experience with OpenGate Catahoulas.
