Our dogs excel at their jobs! Dogs from our program can excel in a variety of fields, including as livestock guardian dogs. We keep in mind a variety of factors when breeding, including drive, energy, temperament, and structure. Our goal is to produce balanced dogs that will be able to thrive wherever they are needed.

Getting a puppy from Heather

Heather partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.

“Some pups come out of the gate with a personality that is unmistakable. Others take their time. We like to evaluate pups based on future home needs. If we have buyers who have a certain type of stock, we like to try and expose pup before leaving. If we have a stronger temperament pup who needs an experienced handler, we will not place them with a beginner LGD home.”

    Working with Heather was such an incredible experience from beginning to end. She is truly an amazing breeder and you can immediately tell how much she genuinely loves and cares for her dogs. Throughout the entire process, Heather was extremely responsive—she always got back to us so quickly, answered all of our questions, and regularly sent us photos and updates on our puppy. We always felt informed and involved while we until he was 8 weeks to pick him up. We actually drove all the way from the East Coast to Colorado to pick up Atlas, our puppy, and we are so happy we did. The road trip itself was an adventure, but getting to finally meet Heather at her farm made the entire trip worth it. Being able to visit Pails & Provisions Farm in person was especially meaningful. We got to meet Heather, see where Atlas was raised, meet his parents and her other dogs, and experience the farm for ourselves. Seeing everything firsthand made it even more obvious how much time, love, and care she puts into her dogs and puppies. We couldn’t have asked for a better breeder. We would absolutely recommend Heather to anyone looking for a breeder who is knowledgeable, responsive, caring, and truly devoted to her dogs. ❤️
