I'm Karen D., the breeder behind Paladen Pointers & German Shorthaired Pointers located in Riverside, CA. Our puppies are always home-raised with a variety of positive experiences in preparation for new homes. Bred by a former professional service dog trainer, they receive the benefits of early guidance, play activities, and temperament testing to match them to the individual needs of their new homes.
Q. & A. with Karen
Why did you start breeding?
We strive to preserve these classic sporting breeds, which were the foundation for many other hunting breeds centuries ago. Our breeding program focuses on maintaining the unique characteristics, while producing puppies of correct structure and temperament. We breed to both help ensure the future of the breed and to improve upon our dogs' finest qualities with each generation.
What makes your program special?
Our home-raised puppies, being bred by a former professional service dog trainer, go home well-prepared for new families with a complete 'Puppy Packet' and the benefit of life-time advice and support. Mentorship is offered to serious admirers of the breeds who would like to learn to compete. Only completely healthy, correct representations of the breed standards are used in our breeding program.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Pointer puppies include liver and white, lemon and white, orange and white, and black and white. German Shorthaired Pointer puppies are liver and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.

Price
Puppy prices include between $1,700 - $2,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“This includes and age-appropriate health care, a 'Puppy Packet' containing training/raising information, toys, treats, chewies, food, collar/leash, I.D. tag, and a pre-paid microchip. No deposits are needed, but my Placement Questionnaire and follow-up personal phone conversation is required for approval. I prefer to allow buyers to change their minds should their circumstances change, rather than be obligated by a deposit. There are many scammers taking deposits on non-existent puppies!”
