I'm Kelly L., the breeder behind Palimar Weimaraners located in Portage, MI. We have been active in the breed for over 30 years and breed to preserve the Weimaraner as a healthy home and hunting companion. Our puppies are lovingly raised in our home as part of our family so that we can prepare them to be wonderful additions to yours. We love our dogs and what we do, and we strive to make each puppy a great contribution to his or her forever home.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    We wanted to do our part to better the breed. Our breeding program strives to maintain the unique characteristics of the breed while placing an emphasis on producing Weimaraners of superior health, temperament, conformation, and hunting instinct.
  • What makes your program special?

    We love the Weimaraner breed. Our dogs have brought us so much joy and happiness that we wanted to give back to them by producing the highest quality dogs and providing them a wonderful life with wonderful families. Our dogs work hard, play hard, love hard, and are part of the family. We prepare all of our pups to excel in life.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Kelly

Price

Puppy prices include a $200 non-refundable deposit and between $1,000 - $1,300 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“All puppies go home with a health warranty, prepaid microchips, and a puppy kit. We do not accept deposits until puppies are born. If something happens where we are unable to provide the reserved puppy, the deposit is refundable.”

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
