I'm Jessica H., the breeder behind Patriot Shepherds located in Norfolk County, MA. We only have a litter once every 2 years to generate the best family dogs as possible. Health and temperament are extremely important to us. We do everything we can to ensure a healthy, happy pup for you to welcome into your family!

Why did you start breeding?
Honestly, our vet encouraged us to. When he first met our girl he told us she was the perfect specimen of a German Shepherd and that fixing her would be sad to the breed. So we waited until she was two and had a litter. She produced some of the most beautiful, healthy, well-temperamented dogs I have ever met. All of the pups are still in contact with us to this date!What makes your program special?
We do not breed for profit or greed. I want to give families the same joy I get when I walk through my doors every day. Our first goal is always the wellness of the dogs. Our next goal is always the temperament, as the temperament of this breed always gets a bad rep we do all we can to ensure friendly, loving, loyal dogs!What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include sable and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
