Q. & A. with Robyn

  • Why did you start breeding?

I’ve always been a dog lover . After getting our 1st Basset Hound over 30 years ago, I absolutely fell in love with the breed. I first bred Basset Hounds from 1992-1997 We stopped breeding due to starting a family and having a special needs child . We decided to go back into breeding Basset Hounds in 2017 . I absolutely love raising each puppy and sharing my love of the breed with many amazing families.
  • What makes your program special?

Our newborn puppies are raised in oxygenated incubators in a completely controlled environment .This process gives each puppy the absolute best start in life possible. We start ENS at 3 days old. Puppies health care is done by a veterinarian. They’ll each have 2 complete health exams , 2 series of vaccinations ,microchipped W/ lifetime enrollment with AKC Reunite and lifetime AKC poison control.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

I recently got the most adorable Basset Hound puppy from Robyn at Pawmetto Hounds, and I couldn’t be happier! This little bundle of joy is full of energy, incredibly affectionate, and has the sweetest personality. Stuart adapted quickly to his new home, showing impressive intelligence and a playful spirit that brightens every day. Healthy, well-socialized, and absolutely lovable—he has brought so much happiness into our lives. Highly recommend Pawmetto Paws to anyone looking for a loyal and loving Basset Hound companion! Robyn and her husband were amazingly easy and worry free to work with. Thanks to a recommendation of a friend, I checked out Gooddog.com and found Robyn and my new baby. From our first contact, she answered all my questions and helped me navigate the adoption process from start to finish. And even has called and checked in a few times since Roxie came to live with us. They kindly hand delivered Roxie to my house and stayed awhile to make sure she transitioned well. And Roxie Lulu is absolutely the sweetest, sassiest little amazing ball of joy and I am so thankful for Robyn for bringing her into my life.

My experience with getting my Ruthie Ann from Robyn with Pawmetto Hounds was flawless. Robyn is truly an ethical breeder and wants the best for all her dogs and the puppies she helps bring into this world. Robyn brings you on the puppies journey from essential conception to birth and just because you take your puppy home doesn’t mean Robyn is out of your life. She’s always wanting updates and it’s been fun to keep up with what Ruthie’s litter mates are up to as well. I have had Ruthie for over two years and I, my kids, friends, and customers adore her. I work in the dog service industry and Ruthie’s genetics are amazing! She’s completely mentally and physically sound. She doesn’t over correct other dogs and she alerts when needed. Every single week she continues to impress me with her work and her love.

We absolutely loved working with Robyn! She was always very responsive to our questions and knowledgeable about basset hounds. More importantly, you could tell how much she loves her puppies! After speaking with her on the phone we knew she was the perfect breeder for us. I was concerned at first because we live about 10 hours away, but she kept in constant communication with us and sent photos and videos constantly to keep us updated. She even delivered Henry directly to us to ensure that he arrived happy and safe! Not only did she deliver Henry, but she brought a binder full of all the important information we would need, along with his favorite toys and blankets that smelled like his mom and his littermates. We 100 percent would get another puppy from Robyn when the time is right. I would not hesitate to recommend Pawmetto Hounds to my friends!

Robyn was great to work with. She was responsive, knowledgeable, and answered any questions along the way. She is a breeder who not only cares about her puppies but also the families they go to. She worked with us on finding a middle ground to meet so we could make way back to MA easily. Our puppy came with a binder that had everything in it from vet papers, recommendations on potty training, to pet insurance. She really includes it all. Thank you for our last fur baby. We’re excited to have him join the family.
