I'm Jennifer P., the breeder behind Peters Built Pointers located in Covington, GA. AKC German Shorthaired Pointers that are bred with the utmost care for both the Field and the Family Room.
Past puppies have gone on to become excellent companions, as well as working field hunt guides and drug detection dogs.
Q. & A. with Jennifer
Why did you start breeding?
Our family has owned German Shorthaired Pointers for over ten years. In that time, we’ve learned countless things about what makes an excellent GSP and fallen in love with the breed along the way. We have long felt a pull towards bettering the breed in any way we can while making these dogs accessible to and successful with well-suited families and have finally made that dream a reality.
What makes your program special?
Our dogs are a part of our family. We have one breeding pair, which we carefully selected according to what we (and experts) find to be excellent qualities in a GSP. We are home full time with our litters, enabling us to be extremely hands on in the raising of our puppies. We incorporate aspects of Puppy Culture, Biosensor Training and ENS Training into the raising of our pups. They go home started on crate training, early potty training, and early obedience training and we provide tools for new owners to transition seamlessly without losing any steam in those areas.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include white and liver, liver roan, and liver and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
