Big changes for the babies today!
They’ve mastered walking, gotten so much bigger this week, and now they’re officially climbing out of the whelping pool like little pros.
It’s clear they’ve outgrown their first space—so this morning is their last one in the pool. We’re setting up their big-kid area now, and they’ll be moving in this afternoon. Stay tuned for the big move.
We do still have a couple of girls available, so message me if you’ve been thinking about adding one of these sweethearts to your family. 🐾

First Feeding Day! 🐾
Our puppies turn three weeks old today 🥺, and today they hit a huge developmental milestone: their very first meal!
We start with powdered goat milk because it’s easier to digest than cow’s milk and rich in nutrients that support growing puppies. Their digestive systems are still developing, and goat milk closely mimics the nutrients found in their mom’s milk — making it a gentle first step in the weaning process.
At around 3 weeks old, puppies begin transitioning from exclusive nursing to learning how to lap and eventually chew. Their little teeth are just beginning to erupt, and their coordination is improving — perfect timing for their first taste of “solid” food (even though it’s still liquid right now!).
Their little noses diving in, feet in the bowl, and milk-covered faces every sloppy lick is a sign of learning and growth. Over the next few weeks, we’ll gradually thicken their meals until they’re ready for soaked kibble and then full solids.
Early exposure to lapping and varied textures helps with both physical development and brain stimulation!
Follow along as these little ones grow, learn, and eat their way toward independence!l

Breeder-Reported Testing
Great level
Platz German Shepherds reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for German Shepherds.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
DNA Disease Panel, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
