I'm Katie V., the breeder behind Pordr Corgis located in Beaverton, OR. We believe Pembrokes make wonderful family pets, and want to bring high-quality pups into this world. We put a great deal of effort into raising our litters to ensure our puppy families will have the best experience raising their new family members.

Why did you start breeding?
We really feel that Pembroke Corgis are an ideal intersection between the smaller dog size, the intelligence of herding dogs, and the durability of big dogs. We noticed that there were few breeders nearby, and wanted to fill that gap so people in our are would have access to healthy and happy pups, just like we have.What makes your program special?
We follow current best practices for raising healthy dogs, including genetic testing to screen for hereditary issues and age appropriate medical evaluations. We also believe in not doing unnecessary body modifications, so we do NOT remove tails or dew claws (unless medically indicated) from our pups.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include white and fawn, fawn, white and red, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Getting a puppy from Katie
Katie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Puppy prices include a $200 non-refundable deposit and between $1,400 - $1,800 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Pricing includes microchipping, up-to-date vaccinations, deworming and early socialization. Deposit applies to the final cost. This will cover costs between time of commitment and pick-up (whether that is a couple days or a couple weeks).”

Litter update on 22 Nov. •…I left town for a few days to visit family, and when I got back the little ones went from wobbly, sleepy babies, to gruel-eating scampies with teeth! A couple are about to pass 1 Kg in weight, they rough-house, and they "bark" in response to the adults now. So looking forward to seeing their personalities start to become clearer over the next couple weeks.

Litter update on 15 Nov. •…We have our first escape! Maple climbed on his litter mates, who were piled by the entrance, and then climbed out of the whelping box. From there, he crawled/walked several feet over to Jade's crate, where he then climbed in and fell asleep. It's good to start crate training early, but we usually wait until they are a few weeks older! Now he's all tuckered out.

Litter update on 13 Nov. •…2 weeks! Everyone has doubled in weight, some are really getting their legs coordinated, and we even have some open eyes. This is one of my favorite times, when they aren't tiny but aren't land raptors quite yet.

Litter update on 09 Nov. •…They are getting so big! We took this pic a few days ago, and they are on their way to doubling in size over the next couple days. Some personalities are showing up, they can easily move around the box, and love climbing on each other. Jade is being the best mom, staying close and making sure they are alright.

Program update on 30 Oct. •Everyone home, safe and sound

Litter update on 30 Oct. •Today was the day! Jade gave birth to 6 boys and 2 girls. Unfortunately one, whom we named Thor, did not make it and crossed the rainbow bridge to Valhalla. Everyone else is doing very well, and we'll update with pictures when everyone has settled in.

Litter update on 23 Oct. •It's confirmed! We are expecting 8 little ones within the next week. Everything looks good, so now it's just a wait for the temp drop.

Litter update on 20 Oct. •…Her whelping box is now set up, and puppy cam up & running. The side rails will go on after birth (as well as a heating pad), but she can start settling in now. I also have a 'door' I can put on to keep the other dogs out of the box.

Litter update on 15 Oct. •…Puppy count! Well, almost 🙃. The skeletons are forming and we can see 6, maybe 7, little ones in there. Since it's not clear enough we go back next week for another set of X-rays. But so far everything looks good! Pic is of Jade (on the right) having a nap with her daughter Hera.

About Hera
Hera is one chill lady. She's cool on walks (unless she spots a yellow fire hydrant, than everyone will know about it!) and regal as she surveys her domain (like any good goddess does). She holds her own in the hourly wrestling matches with her fellow Corgis, followed by some stretching and sleeping. Her favorite sleeping pose is belly up, and no dropped kibble or treat escapes her nose.

About Jade
Jade is a mature lady who loves to cuddle up after a great run or hike. She can turn on a dime when teasing the other dogs, and is a wonderful mama dog to her pups. She is definitely the pack leader, keeping the young 'uns in line when they get too rambunctious. Jade has reached an age where she doesn't get overly excited when someone comes to the door, but she's got a voice to let them know she's keeping an eye on them. She has AKC champion bloodlines in her pedigree, and is triple clear genetically.

About Major
Major is a Hummer of a Corgi, built for long distance trotting and snuggling on the couch. He's smart (talks to us using buttons and fetches the newspaper) and insistent on being heard - no one gets to the front door without him telling us! He's yet to meet a person he didn't like. His body is fit and well-formed, with a white chest that makes him look regal when he's waiting for dinner.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Katie was wonderful to work with. She was very accommodating agreeing to meet at a destination that saved me a lot of driving and brought several puppies for me to choose from. The fact that she tested her breeding pair of parents for genetic diseases shows me she really cares about the health of the puppies she breeds. So happy to meet Katie from Pordr Corgis. From the beginning she was very responsive. When visiting she allowed us time to meet the puppies and spend as much time with them as we needed.
