I'm MICHAEL M., the breeder behind Pracovni Bohemia German Shepherds located in Sabattus, ME. Our breeding program solely focuses on producing high-drive puppies suitable for work and loyal family companions. All of our breeding stock are 100% European imports and every dog in the pedigree has been breed surveyed, has a working title, confirmation rating and health screenings such as hip & elbow certifications. Furthermore, dogs used for breeding also have a working title and health screenings. Simply put, we select the best proven dogs that exude extraordinary temperament, work ability and health. Dogs from our program can excel in a variety of fields such as Police K9, dog sports such as IGP (Schutzhund), PSA K9 as well as personal protection. We keep in mind a variety of factors when breeding including drive, joy of working, temperament, and confirmation. Our goal is to produce balanced dogs that will be able to thrive wherever they are needed.

Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary), Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (Preliminary), Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Temperament Test
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Spondylocostal Dysostosis, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
