I'm Gabriel S., the breeder behind Prata's OES located in Fair Grove, MO. We're an Old English Sheepdog breeder who is part of the AKC bred with HEART program. With the responsibility of breeding healthy dogs, we health test them for over 200 diseases. It includes breed specific ones. We also participate in the OFA-CHIC program to make sure we provide healthy puppies.

Why did you start breeding?
I grew up watching a Brazilian TV show called "Tv Colosso". The hostess of that show was called "Priscila" and she was an Old English Sheepdog. I know, right! It was actually a dog show. I remember waking up early every day to watch it. Priscila was just so charming and beautiful that I decided to learn more about OES. Now, here I am... an OES breeder living my dream every day.
What makes your program special?
We mainly breed for health, temperament and conformation. We go above and beyond when it comes to breeding dogs. Our program is as transparent as possible and our results are posted publicly in the main online platforms for people to see them. Besides that, the love, attention, training and dedication we put into it, makes our dog breeding program so special.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include grizzle and white, gray and white, blue gray and white, and blue and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Gabriel

Gabriel has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,000 - $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Price includes deworming every 2 weeks, Neopar and DAPP shot, registration papers, shot records, health certificate, two-year health guarantee, blanket with mom/littermates scent, toys and microchip. We require a $100.00 deposit (non-refundable) for you to hold a spot on our waitlist. Once the puppies are born, you'll be asked to place another $400.00 deposit (non-refundable) to hold your puppy.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Let me introduce you our European JCH JBIS JBISS Regina Royal Croft out of Multi JCH Multi CH PWW CW Royal Croft High’n Mighty and JCH CH. JBISS Multi BIS BISS CW Royal Croft PC I will start it saying how well Regina exemplifies our breed standard. She is a beautiful mover with impressive head size, good face expression, square body with super lightweight and well balanced reach and drive. She has a solid and authentic OES personality. She is even tempered, gentle, sweet, loving and goofy. Regina is a great dog and she has one of the best personalities a dog can have. She has come to us with full intentions to improve and diversify our Old English Sheepdog lines. She is part of our commitment to the betterment of the OES breed, in general. Besides being very pretty and an excellent dog to our family, Regina's health screenings have already started and the results are being posted as they come to us. She is on his way to get her CHIC (Canine Health Information Center) number from OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals). So far she has been submitted and approved on 10 OFA canines health screening tests, 9 of those tests being specific for the OES breed. Among those health tests, Regina has been tested for, you will find BAER (congenital deafness), Hips Dysplasia, Elbows Dysplasia, Eyes (CAER), EIC (Exercise Induced Collapse), Cardiac Evaluation, Cerebellar Degeneration, Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD) and Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1) and she is also genetic clear for over 240 diseases (including our breed specific ones). These health tests are the primary health tests that any and all breeders should perform on their parents dog before pairing them for breeding purposes. They are recommended by the OES parent club here in America. Also, a good breeder should have the results published publicly on the OFA. As I said previously, Regina is a stunning girl and she has already proven herself at very young age. She has been shown in Europe by her breeder Nebojsa and she is already a Serbian Junior Champion, Junior Best in Specialty Show and Junior Best in Show, acquiring those titles before she turned 10 months old and also with very limited shows. She is just divine and a famous star among our breed. Regina is a very special girl.

Among those health tests, Phoenix has been tested for, you will find BAER (congenital deafness), Hips Dysplasia, Elbows Dysplasia, Eyes (CAER), Thyroid, EIC (Exercise Induced Collapse), Cardiac Evaluation, Cerebellar Degeneration, Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD) and Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1). However, he carries one copy of Cerebellar Degeneration which doesn't affect him or the puppies he produces. These health tests are the primary health tests that any and all breeders should perform on their parents dog before pairing them for breeding purposes. They are recommended by the OES's parent club. Also, a good breeder should have the results published on the OFA database.

Prata's OES reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Old English Sheepdogs.

Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary), Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (Preliminary), Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation , Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Temperament Test, Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

Gabriel has been exceptionally good with all the help you can possibly need when it’s your first puppy. I had no clue when I was setting myself up for with a puppy. The journey pleasantly began with Gabriel making it so easy to get puppy Porthos home. I can’t be more thankful for all the support Gabriel has given me since I contacted him in February and puppy home coming day was in Feb too. It was seamless and surprisingly simple and I am very thankful for that.
