Meet the breeder

I'm Carl L., the breeder behind Providence Landhaus located in Whitehouse, OH. We are committed to always responsibly breeding with the best interest of our puppies’ health and longevity at the forefront. We decided to take our love for this breed to the next level by breeding our incredible dogs. We hope our puppies bring lots of joy and love into the hearts of their new families!

Q. & A. with Carl

  • Why did you start breeding?

People would see our dog at the park, dog clubs and trials. They were impressed with their obedience, appearance and temperament and inquired about getting one of their puppies. That led us to start our breeding program.
  • What makes your program special?

We use our own dogs and have them genetically tested for DM and have Hip/Elbow certifications thru the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals. They are well socialized and have working line pedigrees. Their parents and grandparents have working titles and history of good Hips.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have stock coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

  • Hip Dysplasia

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Temperament Test

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
