I'm RACHELLE P., the breeder behind Puppies on the Prairie located in Bloomfield, NE. We understand the responsibility of purposefully breeding in order to do better for the breed and the families that love them! Our puppies are raised with love in our home, and we strive to help each one grow up with confidence so they are ready to thrive with their new families. They are affectionate, intelligent, and cute as can be!
Q. & A. with RACHELLE
Why did you start breeding?
We have been Bernese Mountain Dog breeders since 2011. Our first Berner, Zoe, came into our lives unexpectedly. From that point on, we knew they were the best dogs ever ;) They instantly became a ‘part of the family’ with the unconditional love and affection they always bring. They are gentle giants and make great family dogs. Our newest female, Mika was imported from Poland in 2022 to ensure that we have fresh bloodlines in the midwest. She has excellent testing and the best personality.
What makes your program special?
We are not a puppy mill! We love the breed and just want to bless others with the same joy that this breed has brought into our lives 💙
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are black rust and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
