Meet the breeder

I'm Amy K., the breeder behind Puppy Sugars Kennels located in Fairhope, AL. Our dogs are bred to have top qualities that all families want in their puppies, such as compassion, patience, and love! Our focus is to produce the best dogs of the highest quality so that other families can also enjoy the love of a dog. These dogs have proven to be wonderful companions in our lives. It is a privilege to be able to share that love and friendship with others through responsible breeding.

Q. & A. with Amy

  • Why did you start breeding?

After loosing our Pepper at 15 and getting Mitten & Aspen, we realized how beautiful and special they were. Both Aspen (liver parti with green eyes) and Mittens (black extremely soft mega coat) had the best personalities we'd ever seen in the Miniature Schnauzer breed. We also added a Harper ( a stunning salt/pepper with blue eyes and a heart of gold). We knew we had to continue their qualities. In addition to Miniature Schnauzers we also have a passion for the Yorkshire Terrier breed.
  • What makes your program special?

Our babies are all raised in our home & well socialized from the time they are born. They grow up playing with our other dogs & our grandchildren ages 8mos-9yrs, so they are very used to both dogs and kids. We do everything possible to ensure their health. We give an early parvo (Neopar) shot at 4-5 weeks and a 6 in 1 combo at 8-9 weeks. Our puppies are microchiped and vet checked before leaving.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Miniature Schnauzer puppies include wheaten, white, parti, liver, black and silver, black, and salt and pepper. Yorkshire Terrier puppies include parti and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

We had a wonderful experience with Puppy Sugars Kennel. Amy and Earl were kind, transparent, and clearly devoted to their puppies. Willow (formerly Sandy) came to us healthy, confident, and well socialized, which says so much about the love and care she received. They were always happy to answer questions and made the entire process easy and reassuring. We’re so grateful for Willow and highly recommend Puppy Sugars Kennel to anyone looking for breeders who truly care about their dogs.

I brought home my puppy, originally named Beau (now Bentley), and Amy made this a great experience! She was very informative about how to care for Bentley at home, and I am so in love with him. Highly recommend! 🐾💙

Since we laid eyes on Blu, we were smitten! Amy and her hubby did a wonderful job keeping us up to date on the process. She is very thorough and made the transition seamless! Our boy, we named him Gunnar, is just a perfect addition to our family! I highly recommend Amy and Puppy Sugars Kennels as a reputable and trustworthy breeder!

It was a pleasure working with Amy at Puppy Sugars Kennels for our new fur family member. We got Remus, a miniature schnauzer when he was only 10 weeks old. She answered all our questions provided all the necessary paperwork, information and instructions we needed for his care. Our personal vet said Remus had had the best care and he was in tip top shape. We love our new fur baby and he totally rules the house already. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Amy was great! She took very good care of our little which we now have named Adelyne! Adelyne has the same temperament that Amy said she would have and has trained her well! My pup came home only making few messes! I would definitely work with Amy and her husband again!
