I'm Cathy H., the breeder behind Purposefully Bred Kennel located in Mc Loud, OK. My goal for the dogs I bring into the world is to enrich the lives of their new owners whether that may be a superb companion, or an apt service or protection dog prospect.
Q. & A. with Cathy
Why did you start breeding?
I have always had a fascination with genetics and have gardened, bred fish and snails for fun since I was young. Now I have decided to take my passion for dogs to the next level- breeding. I have volunteered at animal shelters and that has inspired me to put my effort into improving dogs' quality of life by encouraging better breeding practices and education.
What makes your program special?
I am working toward healthy, functional, and intelligent dogs, and in extending their longevity I hope to bring families more years of unconditional love and service work. I would like to specialize in service dog prospects as well as fabulous companions and possibly eventually show and protection prospects!
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our Companion Cross puppies are large size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our Companion Cross puppies have smooth coats. Chihuahua puppies include smooth and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Companion Cross puppies include black and white, blue, fawn, black and tan, and black. Chihuahua puppies include fawn, black sabled fawn, chocolate sabled fawn, and silver. Shih Tzu puppies include black, liver, gold, liver and white, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
