Meet the breeder

I'm Gretchen P., the breeder behind Pyredoodles at Pedersen Ranch located in Prescott, WA. We love providing pets that are bred for calm and intelligent temperament and longevity. We hand raise them on our ranch, with lots of attention from our children. All breeding stock is fed pre-natal and pre-breeding supplements. They are DNA tested and OFA certified and exposed to farm animals.

Q. & A. with Gretchen

  • Why did you start breeding?

We bred Roxie once and the kids were hooked with the cuteness of the puppies. We enhanced our program with hip/elbow/patella certifications, DNA testing and selection for registered and well-bred animals with calm, loving personalities who make wonderful family pets!
  • What makes your program special?

What makes us special is our attention to the dogs, puppies, our clients, and our location. We live in a very rural area that is remote, but easily accessible. The animals are safe from traffic and city noises and allowed to free roam the property as they choose. They are socialized and desensitized to animals and children/people of all ages, including visitors to our ranch lodging.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include white, blue, gray, cream, black, and apricot. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Our family had such a great experience working with Gretchen. She made the process of bringing our puppy home, so easy and answered every question we had. Picking up our puppy went so smoothly and it was really fun to meet Gretchen and kids in person after weeks of messaging! We love our pup and have felt so supported through this time of adjustment.

Our gorgeous boy is the calmest, sweetest and well mannered puppy ever. He came 95% already potty trained. Working with Gretchen through Good Dog offers lots of helpful information for a new puppy owner. I highly recommend Gretchen if you're looking for a Pyradoodle.

This has been a long time coming. I am so sorry this is a late story but Gretchen and her family are great! What they do is amazing and my family and I are enjoying our boy Craig. Communication was such an easy going experience and Gretchen was always on top of things. From letting us know when our puppy took a bath to getting his shots all the way to, he should be arriving very soon! (We had to have him shipped to us) Which was also a really good experience too!! Craig, now 3 years old, is doing well and lively. He is such a momma's boy but he still gives his love to everyone in our family. Again, we couldn't ask for anything more from Washington Pryedoodles. Amazing job!!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience working with Gretchen! From our very first inquiry on Good Dog, her communication was exceptional. Her response times were lightning-fast, and she answered every question with genuine warmth, patience, and transparency. When it came time to pick up Barley, Gretchen welcomed us into her home with open arms. It was immediately clear that the puppies are raised in a loving, attentive, and clean environment. Meeting her in person was such a joy—she made the entire transition smooth, stress-free, and celebratory, ensuring we had everything we needed to bring Barley home with complete confidence. Barley has been such a well-adjusted, happy, and sweet-natured Pyradoodle from day one, which speaks volumes about the early socialization, care, and dedication Gretchen puts into her pups. If you are looking for an ethical, passionate, and wonderfully communicative breeder, I cannot recommend Gretchen highly enough!

Hello, I just wanted to let everyone know that Gretchen raises amazing puppies. My experience with her through the whole process was great.. she answered all my questions, no matter how many I had and guided me with the best puppy to choose. I told her I needed a calm puppy for my daughter who is nuero divergent and Manny now known as Waffle is so calm and patient. At his young age most puppies are so full of energy but Waffle is so calm. If I could I would have brought two home, with that said I plan on getting another one in the future. Awesome family to work with!!! Thank you Gretchen and family.
