I'm Lesley P., the breeder behind Qadim Afghan Hounds located in Cape Coral, FL. We've had Afghan Hounds since 1989 and first started showing in the early 1990s. We believe in preserving a well-balanced Afghan Hound and are currently active in both conformation and performance events.
Q. & A. with Lesley
Why did you start breeding?
Afghan Hounds are a magnificent breed and we want to make a positive contribution to their preservation. While we have been involved with showing for many years, it is only now that we are in a position to breed responsibly, and so it is our great joy to offer our first litter.
What makes your program special?
Our tagline at Qadim Afghan Hounds is "Beauty, Brains, and Heart." Our dogs have not only had success in the conformation ring, but also hold titles in performance events as well as the AKC Family Dog program. Whether it's in the show ring, the coursing field, or the sofa, our dogs have beautiful conformation, drive, and temperament. Please visit our website at the link provided at the end of this profile to learn more about us and our magnificent hounds.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include white and blue and cream. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
