I'm Lexie M., the breeder behind Raven's Labradors located in Corning, CA. It’s important to us that we continue to improve our program and share our knowledge with our buyer families.   • Why did you start breeding?

    Growing up, my family mostly had field line Labradors , and while they were very lovable, They were also very high energy so when a family friend had show lines that were to the breed standard, I was amazed at how easy to live with they were and knew I wanted to be involved. I started looking for the perfect puppy and trying to learn as much as possible about showing.

  • What makes your program special?

    Our breeding program sets puppies up to live a healthy family life. We health test our dogs. We have three kids and lots of other animals and we do a lot of socialization with different sounds. We believe that Labradors should be all purpose not just for the field or show or family home. We believe that they should be able to be service dogs, family, pets, Hunters, and excel in the show ring.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Lexie

Lexie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Lexie partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 7 weeks old.

“We take great care and placing puppies with special families. We are not able to start matching specific puppies to families until we have done a structural evaluation to determine which puppies we’ll be keeping to further our breeding program. This usually takes place around 7 to 8 weeks.”

Puppy prices include a $800 refundable deposit and between $2,050 - $2,600 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“This price includes a health guarantee, AKC limited registration, first round of vaccinations, dewormer, microchip, puppy socialization, and a going home packet. Deposits are only taken once a litter is born and we know the sex and color of all puppies available. Deposits are transferable to another litter and refundable to the extent of the law.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia , Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary)

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI), Elbow Dysplasia (Preliminary)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Hereditary Nasal Parakeratosis (HNPK), Copper Toxicosis, Labrador Retriever Type, Centronuclear Myopathy (CNM), DNA Disease Panel, PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), D Locus (Dilute) DNA test

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    Lexie has been incredible at every step of the process! From staying in contact about the puppies, their development, to keeping eyes open for what I was looking for temperament-wise. She has a deep knowledge of and respect for the breed. Since getting Macchiato (Mac) 3 weeks ago, he's grown like a weed and been such a joy! He's always eager to learn and pick things up very quickly. Within his first week or so, he's already potty trained, knows sit, wait at door, goes up and down stairs, and is working on down/stay.
