Meet the breeder

I'm Rachael D., the breeder behind RED’s German Shepherds located in Lewisburg, KY. Our dogs are members of the family, we do everything we can to make sure that they get the best lives possible. That includes everything from choosing healthy parents with good temperaments, to proper socialization and daily care, to placing them in loving homes with wonderful families. We strive to provide each of our puppies and their families with a truly positive experience!

Q. & A. with Rachael

  • Why did you start breeding?

With my love for the breed I always knew I wanted to show the world how great these dogs can be. I found an amazing mentor who has truly helped me to understand what it means to breed and how to do so responsibly.
  • What makes your program special?

All of my dogs/puppies are raised within our home, right underfoot. Getting adjusted to everyday home life and activities from the earliest of ages. Each pairing is selected based on health/conformation above all else. We strive on improving with each pairing.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include stock and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable, black, black and tan, black and red, blue, and liver. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
