Meet the breeder

I'm Theresa K., the breeder behind Reynard Farm located in Ellendale, DE. I home-raise healthy, well-socialized, loving pups from Jack Russell Terrier Club of America registered parents. My crew lives in my home with me as they are my pets first! I have my dogs DNA tested for 5 potential health issues. My adult dogs visit an ophthalmologist yearly until age 7, and my pups are BAER tested, microchipped, and have first vaccines before thry leave me. I've owned Jacks since 1985 and kept my female line going for 11 generations. I build a 'jungle gym' in my family room for pups, they have tunnels to explore, and they use a litter box. They get used to being around a big dog. They get outside in the sunshine and are litter box trained. I do everything I can to provide a strong start for my puppies and a wonderful life for all my dogs!

Q. & A. with Theresa

  • Why did you start breeding?

My first Jack was Lefty, a wonderful companion, somewhat short-legged version that I raced a bit. I later obtained Timely, a correct proportional, very sweet-natured girl and a good competitor, and I got involved in JRTCA trials. I bred her to other correct stud dogs and love the whole process. I have on a couple occasions experienced the downside too - three c-sections over the years that came out ok. I once had a pup with a PDA and had him get heart surgery by a specialist to repair it, without which he would've died by one year old. I brought him into the world, so I did everything I could to help him succeed. I take my role very seriously and always want what's best for each of my dogs and puppies.
  • What makes your program special?

I think being a veterinarian is a major benefit. I can run fecals, do bloodwork, hearing testing, etc myself. I understand the relationship between form and function when it comes to conformation. Buyers are also welcome to continue to have their pups vaccinated by me, which allows me to see their development and help before any potential issues develop.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include tri-color and tan and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Forty is our second puppy from Reynard Farm. Extremely happy with both puppies! Photo and video updates were provided to inform of puppy progress prior to pick up! So happy with our first puppy, that I drove 12 hours to pick up my second. If you're a Jack Russell lover, I highly recommend Reynard Farm.
