Meet the breeder
I'm Rick C., the breeder behind Rick's Wire Fox Terriers located in Oak Ridge, NC. Our dogs are bred in a home environment with the goal of producing dogs true to the standard. Appearance is equally important to health and personality of the dogs. Being a low volume breeder allows me to socialize the puppies in a household with other fox terriers and cats. My current dog for breeding is an AKC conformation Champion and has participated in Earthdog trials earning her Novice Earthdog title. She was awarded Best of Winners at the Wire Fox Specialty show / Central states. All puppies are tested for Genetic disorders (DNA testing) and this information is shared with prospective buyers.

Why did you start breeding?
I had a wire as a child and as soon as I had a home of my own, the first addition was a wire fox terrier. I was interested in showing and I became member of the Wire Fox Terrier Club of Maryland and was encouraged by Eve Ballich and Jo Hubbs into showing and breeder. I had a long break from showing and breeding due to work, but I still had wires in my life. I had always had 2 wires in my house since the 1990's.What makes your program special?
Low volume show quality dogs raised in a home environment with socializing with other dogs, cats and humans. I will not let any puppy leave younger than 10-12 weeks.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are white and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
