I am dedicated to preserving and protecting this wonderful breed through purposeful reproduction of only the best quality puppies. My priority is quality over quantity and my puppies are placed in loving homes that I have reviewed carefully. Responsible, ethical breeders play an important role for the future of the dog ecosystem. We are guardians for the future Portuguese Water Dogs. My goal is to breed quality puppies and preserve my show line as well as the line of these incredible companions. I truly love my puppies and know you will, too!What makes your program special?

By creating an environment of health and harmony for young puppies, I believe I am able to give each little pup the very best chance to reach its potential, express its best character, and bring forth its greatest gifts in the relationship with itself and to its family. Melody has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include a $100 non-refundable deposit and $3,400 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“Price includes akc registration, microchip, first vaccine, deworming, copies of of dna health tests of both parents, tote with toys and starter bag of food. In addition your puppy will have 8-10 weeks of “Puppy Culture” training to have the best start possible! Deposit is refundable if breeder does not have a puppy of the appropriate temperament or sex.”

Melody may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Microphthalmia Syndrome (PES), Early Onset Progressive Retinal Atrophy (EOPRA), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Juvenile Dilated Cardiomyopathy, GM1 Gangliosidosis, Portuguese Water Dog Type
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
