Meet the breeder

I'm Rebecca P., the breeder behind River Heights Golden Retrievers located in Post Falls, ID. Thank you for taking the time to visit our page! I like everyone coming to this webpage to know right off the bat that all our dogs are beloved pets and family members first and foremost. You will find no cages or dogs kept in outdoor dog runs here. All my dogs live indoors with us full time and able to roam free in our house.

Q. & A. with Rebecca

  • Why did you start breeding?

My passion for Goldens came through just a general love of the breed. My commitment to start breeding came after seeing the overwhelming health issues in the breed and knowing these health issues were fully preventable through pre-breeding health testing and selective breeding practices.
  • What makes your program special?

Unlike many other breeders, my dogs are first and foremost spoiled and loved family pets. You will find no outdoor dogs locked in outdoor pens or kennels here. They live indoors with us full time. I utilize guardian homes for many of my breeding dogs so that each one lives a life of a spoiled pet, just as it should be! We also test our parents dogs way over and above the standard. In addition to the core 4 (hips, elbows, heart & eyes) + DNA we also test thyroid, shoulders and detention (dental) and offer a LIFETIME genetic health guarantee
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

Dear Rebecca I just want to thank you for the wonderful experience of bringing home my Golden Retriever puppy. From the very beginning, your care, knowledge, and love for your dogs really showed. My puppy is not only gorgeous but also has such a sweet temperament, which I know comes from the excellent start you gave him. I truly appreciate the guidance and support you offered throughout the process, and I feel so lucky to have found you as a breeder. Thank you again for giving me such a special new companion. Warmly, John Roshan

We are very impressed with River Heights Golden Retrievers and of course Rebecca. Her breeding practices exceeded our expectations. We were lucky to meet Rebecca and the puppies from Darby and Walter’s litter and specifically our little girl Gabbie. She is beautiful and is a key member of our family. We adore her.
