I'm Scott D., the breeder behind RJS Kennels located in Lakeville, IN. RJS Kennels formally started in 2006 when I was a single father raising two young boys, Ryan and Jason. RJS is a combination of the three of us. We are a family-focused operation. Our dogs, are bred for intelligence, health, and temperament. Our Labs are energetic but are bred with a distinct "off switch" which makes them great family dogs. I strongly believe in service after the sale and have many clients stay in touch with me with photos and stories of their dogs from us.

Why did you start breeding?
As a young boy, my parents raised Weimaraners and that planted a strong desire in me for a love of dogs as well as the work of improving purebred lines. It seemed just natural to get to work creating wonderful pups.What makes your program special?
In addition to taking the time and resources to insure that healthy well socialized puppies are produced, which should be the focus of all ethical breeders, I am very proud of our "service after the sale". I am always available to answer questions from buyers, I don't care if it was from a recent litter or one years ago. I encourage my clients to send photos and updates and many do so for years.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Labrador Retriever puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Price
"This price includes AKC registration papers, a 26 month health guarantee, the first vaccination as well as a thorough worming program. Your deposit guarantees you a pup and a position in the lineup as far as choice. I will refund a deposit if a buyer's circumstances have changed and cannot handle a pup, or if I am able to substitute for another buyer."

About Artemis
Artemis is a beautiful yellow female. She has been with us all of her life, bred here at RJS kennels. She is a very friendly girl who loves people. A wonderful mother, this is her third litter. She is smart and level headed. Her previous litters have produced healthy pups and the feedback from their owners has been fantastic.

About Ozzy
Ozzy is a very handsome black lab, he is medium build around 70 lbs. HIs main goal in life is to please, very willing to do anything asked of him with the joy in life that only a young male lab has. He is a great sporting dog, but extremely gentle with the myriad of animals we have on our farm, the barn cats love him. He has OFA'd certified excellent hips and normal elbows and he is CNM and EIC clear. All of his health tests are available upon request.

About Tia
Tia is a beautiful chocolate female. She is extremely athletic and loves to work but when it is time to relax she loves to curl up at your feet. This is her third litter and her past pups have gotten wonderful reviews, very healthy, intelligent, athletic and easy to train pups.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
