Meet the breeder

I'm Andrea S., the breeder behind Rocklin Farms Pumi located in Rockbridge, IL.

Q. & A. with Andrea

  • Why did you start breeding?

After two years with Etel we just fell in love with the breed. Working closely with our breeder and mentor we breed Etel and had our first litter. Now 7 years of breeding, 9 litters and over 40 puppies across the US. Pumik are so diverse and through them we have gotten involved in so many wonderful dog activities - from sport, performance, confirmation, herding....it’s been a blessing and a true joy!
  • What makes your program special?

In our breeding decisions we really focus on health, breeding to type, and temperament. We seek out breed matchings to achieve these three. Ultimately we seek to improve the breed with each breeding. Once born, socialization with our puppies is top priority. We expose them to lots of people of different ages and experiences on and off the farm and focus on their sensory experience including ENS.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include white, gray, fawn, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Andrea

Andrea has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Andrea partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 7 weeks old.

“We take great pride and responsibility in matching our puppies to their homes. We work with their future families to ensure a good fit with careful observations of their behavior throughout their time with us and conversations with the family on their plans for the puppy. We further inform our decisions through temperament testing that we do around 6-7 weeks old. ”

Puppy prices include a $500 refundable deposit and $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes the guarantee, AKC registration, puppy socialization, first round of shots, deworming and microchip. All of our puppies are the same price regardless of sex or color. The deposit is refundable up until the point we communicate a specific puppy will be matched to you from a litter for you. Typically this is around 6 weeks old.”
