Rollos Vikings is dedicated to breeding exceptional Black Russian Terriers, with a deep passion for this magnificent and versatile breed. As lifelong dog lovers, we Erik and Mary take immense pride in our work, striving to make a positive and lasting contribution to the Black Russian Terrier community. Our primary breeding goal is too advance the breed as a whole, focusing on improving overall health while maintaining excellence in confirmation and temperament. We never lose sight of the original purpose of the breed, carefully balancing function, structure and character in every generation. Improvements take time, and we are committed to moving our breeding program forward in a thoughtful and balanced direction.

Parent health testing

Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
DNA Disease Panel, Dominant Black DNA Test, Agouti DNA Test, Juvenile Laryngeal Paralysis & Polyneuropathy (JLPP), Hyperuricosuria (HUU)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
