Our puppies are exposed to extensive stimuli to foster their strong nerves and level heads. Our pups are highly intelligent working dogs who leave us ready to be trained and take on their new work.

Why did you start breeding?
We fell in love with German Shepherds as working dogs on our farm. We started breeding to preserve the breed and create a superior working line, breeding for the best attributes from our dogs. We focus on health, intelligence, composition, nerves, drives, and great motivation for their work.What makes your program special?
We are dedicated to taking exceptional care of our dogs, breeding responsibly and only for the traits we desire to replicate. We make the most responsible, ethical and humane decisions for our dogs, only doing what is best for them out of immense love for them and respect for the breed.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include sable and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

“This price includes our puppy contract, AKC registration, starter pack, dewormer, first vaccines, microchip, vet check and approval, including initial joint check, pedigree and litter certificate. Deposit is to reserve puppies. This is non-refundable but is litter/puppy transferable.”

About Echo
Echo is an 80lb silver sable female with imported Czech/DDR lineage. She is med/high energy, medium drive, highly intelligent, has impeccable discernment, perfect protection instincts, she is sweet, loyal, trainable and always looking to please her handler. Echo has very strong nerves, a level head and the perfect level of stranger aloofness. She loves children and is a wonderful mother to her puppies, no matter how old they get. Echo is used for herding and protection on our farm. She has a high prey drive with an excellent discernment for animals to be protected. She is obedient and a wonderful companion. Echo loves water, hiking, ball play, traveling and the beach. She is goofy and lighthearted in her down time. We adore this wonderful girl! Her amazing personality and drives pass very well to her puppies

About Charlie
Charlie (or Bodhi, as we call him) is a gentle giant boy with a big heart. He came to us from a police training academy where he had intense training and excelled at nosework and man trailing. Charlie was great at bitework as well but didn't want to continuously bring the fight, as its not in his nature, so he joined our program instead of going on to police work. He is a true alpha and demonstrates all the amazing traits we look for in a stud dog. Charlie is extremely intelligent and trainable, he has a very level head and is somewhat aloof in new situations but looks to his handler and follows direction very well. He is brave and calm, has perfect house manners and is very sweet and loving to his people and other dogs. Charlie is very motivated, extremely willing to please, loves the ball and water play and has no idea he isn't small enough to be a lap dog. Charlie has a great protection drive and takes his work very seriously. This 88lb gentle giant has stolen our hearts and he should produce puppies with the same intense drives, but kind spirit that he has. Charlie is the quintessential "perfect" German Shepherd Dog.

Parent health testing
Rose Valley German Shepherds reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for German Shepherds.
Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary), Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Temperament Test
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Animal Genetics Panel, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

My husband Vern just loved his boy at first site. Shadow is doing well. He has learned that he has a voice. We are working on crate training and potty training. I can't believe how much he has grown in only 2 weeks. Vern is looking forward to start service training soon. In the mean time we are working on sit,wait,down and taking treat gently. We will keep you posted with more news soon.
