Q. & A. with Calley
Why did you start breeding?
I got into breeding because I want to create a difference in the German Shepherd Dog breed. I want to see more health tested dogs with stable temperaments, dogs that can do any job. My foundation bitch is kin to many Service Dogs and I want to keep this going in my own lines.
What makes your program special?
My breeding program is very special, I do a lot with my foundation bitch and I am in it solely for the dogs.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies have stock coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, bi-color, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
