Meet the breeder

I'm Sarah R., the breeder behind Russell Bassets located in Noblesville, IN. We are a small breeding program where we prioritize giving each dog and puppy the best care that we can. We cherish all of our animals and enjoy sharing the love of this breed with other individuals and families!

Q. & A. with Sarah

  • Why did you start breeding?

My grandparents had Basset Hounds for years and when we purchased his 40 acre farm we decided we would have to get a few hounds in his memory. We have 2 breeding pairs.
  • What makes your program special?

You will not find more loved dogs. These guys are our family and we let them be dogs. They have our 40 acre farm to roam on and have been around all types of people. We were very selective with our bloodlines and personalities when choosing potential breeding pairs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black and brown, blue and white, lemon and white, black white and brown, and black brown and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Sarah was great from the jump! She sent pictures/videos as our little Peachy grew. She was very quick in responding and knowledgeable on all my questions. She loves Bassets, respects the breed, and can be trusted. We picked up our pup right at 8 weeks. Peaches came happy, healthy, SWEET, silly, knowing how to sit, and almost potty trained 🥹 She fit right in, and became family instantly. We love her! Thank you Sarah, Marnie, and Black Benny! ♥️
