I'm S S., the breeder behind S located in Washington. We have been showing Irish Wolfhounds in the ring for years & they are members of our family. We are members of IWCA, Rocky Mountain Irish Wolfhound Club & Irish Wolfhound Club of Puget Sound. We take a wholistic approach to producing sound dogs that would make a great addition to a loving family.
Q. & A. with S
Why did you start breeding?
After training and showing our first Irish Wolfhounds, we decided we wanted to be a part of preserving this magnificent breed. We want to make sure that people who fall in love with this wonderful breed get a healthy well-bred dog that will bring them joy, no matter if it is a show dog or a wonderful companion.
What makes your program special?
We give our dogs and puppies so much attention and care. Puppies go to their forever homes with basic manners, vaccinations, and a lifetime of support. We offer a rebate program for anyone who puts titles on their dogs or takes an obedience class. We even offer free classes to our new puppy parents if they live locally.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Excellent level
S reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Irish Wolfhounds.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
