I'm Joell C., the breeder behind Sacred Heart Doodles located in Webster, NY. We love this breed and the experience of having litters! Our mission is to raise pups that are set to become the best companions. We work hard to breed exemplary dogs that are well taken care of from day one and are prepared to excel in loving and caring homes. We love our dogs and puppies, and we strive to place each pup in a home suited to their temperament and ability.
Q. & A. with Joell
Why did you start breeding?
I worked along side an experienced breeder for several years, and decided to start breeding on my own. I love being with my mama and pups from the beginning until they go to their forever homes.
What makes your program special?
I do early neurological stimulation starting at day 2. I begin potty training at 3 weeks, and my puppies are exposed to many sights, sounds, smells and surfaces. They are well socialized and are desensitized to so much by the time they go home.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include apricot, black, and merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

The puppies went to the vet today for their health certificates. They did awesome in the crate both ways, which is a 35 minute drive each way. Everybody passed with flying colors! They have had their first vaccines, and 2 dewormings. They will be ready to go to their forever homes in two weeks.

I've introduced a crate to the puppies' enclosure, to desensitize them to it. They are using the potty tray 99% of the time, and are eating kibble softened with water. They will get their first vaccine this Saturday.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Good level
Sacred Heart Doodles reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Goldendoodles.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Ichthyosis, Golden Retriever Type
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
