I'm Tyson W., the breeder behind Sakura Japanese Chin located in Rapid City, SD. We breed our dogs with goals in mind. Whether there is a feature we are trying to improve or a temperment we are going for, we have a purpose. Our dogs are all well socialized and intelligent and we strive for show quality dogs. A quality pet dog comes happens when we dont feel they fit our breeding.

What makes your program special?
Our program is special because we breed for a purpose. We are intentional with each breeding trying to improve a feature and move our program forward. We never breed for any purpose other than to improve the line.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red and white, white and black, black tan and white, sable and white, lemon and white, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Tyson
Tyson has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,500 - $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Includes AKC Registration, Vaccines, Microchip. All of our puppies are reserved with a deposit. Your deposit saves the puppy for you until the day they are ready to go home in which the remaining amount will be required to take your puppy.”

Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA), Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
DNA Disease Panel, Gangliosidosis GM2, Japanese Chin Type
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
