Meet the breeder

I'm Kim D., the breeder behind Sandhills Samoyeds located in Atkinson, NE. We adore this breed and can't wait to share our love for them with you! We are passionate breeders and are dedicated to maintaining responsible breeding practices. We do all that we can to make sure our pups get the best care and go to the best homes!

Q. & A. with Kim

  • Why did you start breeding?

We decided to breed Samoyeds out of our love for the breed, and a scarcity of them in the Midwest. They are beautiful, affectionate, wonderful family companions. They have unique, loving personalities. I believe that once a person has had a Samoyed, they will always want one. And I have found that to be true in our puppies families. Most have had experience with the breed and love them dearly.
  • What makes your program special?

When we decided to become breeders, we opted to have our male Boris imported from Russia to ensure that we would have a clean bloodline without any chance of common ancestry with our American females. Boris’ sire is an international champion, and his dam is a national champion.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

This is a long overdue review of Kim and her adorable Samoyeds :) We got Tala (Geneva) to San Diego, California in February. I was soo worried that the long trip would cause stress to our puppy. But Kim made the flight arrangements at a very reasonable price and made sure Tala was in good hands for the entire trip (thanks to her flight nanny Jennifer) who was so caring and loving to Tala. Kim was also very patient with all my questions since I’m a first time fur mom. Now Tala is 8 months old, very much loved (and spoiled!) by our family. She loves her daily treats, massages and 30-min walks. We couldn’t be happier with her, our stress reliever!

Km is awesome to work with. She is knowledgeable about the breed and goes above and beyond for her clients and puppies. She made all the travel arrangements and kept me in the loop each step of the way. I’ve had Lucie for about ten days and I can’t imagine life or a day without her. She is healthy, happy, confident, curious and the most affectionate and sweetest puppy. I cannot recommend Kim enough, she gave me so much joy and happiness.

I recently got a Samoyed puppy from Kim, and it was a great experience! Kim was very friendly and always answered my questions quickly. She gave me a lot of useful information about Samoyeds, which was super helpful. Kim went out of her way to figure out how to send my puppy, Sunny (now Yuki), to the east coast where I live. This made things a lot easier for me. The Good Dog website made the whole process easy and safe. Yuki is a very gentle puppy. She loves to eat and sleep a lot, and she looks like a little polar bear. I really recommend Kim if you want a Samoyed puppy. She was awesome to work with and really cares about her puppies. Thanks, Kim, for bringing Yuki into our lives!

Kim was so helpful throughout the whole process! She answered all my questions in a timely manner and is always there for support whenever I need her. We adopted Niko (previously named Alma) and she is now almost four months old and she is so sweet and fun!

As first time dog parents, Kim has been super patient with all our questions. We're very grateful for how responsive and thorough she is when it comes to answering our questions. She drove to meet us halfway which was convenient for us since we're always busy. We highly recommend Kim to anyone looking for samoyed puppies.

Kim was amazing to work with. There was a period where I wasn’t able to get Kubo (Rhodes) due to life situations but she was so accommodating to my timeline and even offered me a veterans discount. I know in the extra month of time she held Kubo for me she kept him socialized and well groomed. I couldn’t be more thankful for my kind and well mannered boy.
