Meet the breeder

I'm Kim D., the breeder behind Sandhills Samoyeds located in Atkinson, NE. We adore this breed and can't wait to share our love for them with you! We are passionate breeders and are dedicated to maintaining responsible breeding practices. We do all that we can to make sure our pups get the best care and go to the best homes! We are state licensed.

Q. & A. with Kim

  • Why did you start breeding?

We decided to breed Samoyeds out of our love for the breed, and a scarcity of them in the Midwest. They are beautiful, affectionate, wonderful family companions. They have unique, loving personalities. I believe that once a person has had a Samoyed, they will always want one. And I have found that to be true in our puppies families. Most have had experience with the breed and love them dearly.
  • What makes your program special?

When we decided to become breeders, we opted to have our male Boris imported from Russia to ensure that we would have a clean bloodline without any chance of common ancestry with our American females. Boris’ sire is an international champion, and his dam is a national champion.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

This was the most positive, rewarding experience I have had with purchasing a dog. Kim was so helpful, answering my many questions, keeping us updated with photos, and even went above and beyond by letting me get our dog a month later than usual. You can tell she truly cares about where the puppies go to, and if it is the right fit. Kim even traveled over 12 hours to our home to personally hand deliver our dog. I really cannot say enough good things! We still keep in touch and she offers advice and insight. Thank you SO much Sandhills Samoyeds!!! We love our Clover.

Kim was absolutely amazing! She was always quick to respond whenever I had questions, and she even went the extra mile to have her name tag changed from Nellie to Artemis—which was such a thoughtful touch! ✨

Kim was very friendly and happy to show you all of the really cute puppies. She shared some wonderful photos of the puppies and that helped make it easy for me to find the perfect best friend to grow up and be happy together with me for our whole dog life. She kept me up to date on everything as he was getting old enough for me to bring home. 🥰 The up to date pictures of my wonderful puppy, Yeti, were taken often enough for me to watch him as he got bigger and older consistently. When it was time for me to get Yeti, they flew with him across the entire country to meet me in Washington State and handed him to me themselves. Then I picked up the most fantastic puppy ever, with his medical records showing all of the shots and care that he had received. I’m truly impressed by Kim with the care and efforts put into the puppies and the work that she provides to help people find their perfect best friend. Thank you so very much, From Brian and Yeti

Kim was great throughout the process of getting our new puppy. She was quick to respond and we were able to meet her for pick up close by. Aspen, formerly Rose, has been a blast and great addition to our family. She came home with some potty training and has figured it out really quickly which has made the puppy stage even better. She's a confident little pup that has quickly become best friends with our basset hound.🤍

Some things are just meant to be. New Years Eve, our beloved 7 year old Samoyed Baxter passed away suddenly. It left a huge hole in our hearts. After the initial shock, we all agreed that we needed another Samoyed to help bring the joy back to our quiet house. I found Kim and Sandhills Samoyeds through Good Dog. She had puppies that would be ready in early March. We wanted a boy and we chose Truman. Kim was wonderful to work with while we waited for March to come. She was quick to respond to all my questions. She sent vaccination records and health reports of the parents. And without asking she sent us pictures along the way to see how Truman was growing. And she help coordinate a flight nanny who would bring Truman to us. When the day arrived, she continued communication, letting us know he was on his way. Truman arrived with several extras that Kim included. She had packed a comb, dog food, a couple of toys that smelled "like home", a dog training book, along with the hard copies of the paperwork. We named him Lincoln and are thrilled to have him in our family. I later learned that his birthday was the same day as the day our boy Baxter had been cremated. He was truly meant to be with us. Many thanks to Kim and Sandhills Samoyed for this smart, curious, and adventurous boy.
